Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn (born August 19, 1965), is an American actor from America. Her most well-known role is her character as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The show ended on August 13th, 2012 following the completion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also famous for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000), What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was an Episcopalian. She was also of English origins. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has stated that she participates in Passover seders.
